INSPIRED CITY - MEET AND SPEAK
We want to hear from you!
Join us on February 4 at the Delta Prince Edward to share your vision for our Inspired City. The City is
hosting its first ever Meet and Speak to engage the public on the future of sustainability in our community.
This event will be an important way to learn about the progress made over the past five years on the sustainability
goals and actions outlined in our Integrated Community Sustainability Plan
It will also be an opportunity to share your vision for the next phase of our journey towards sustainability by contributing to the new sustainability plan for the future.
There are two opportunities to participate on February 4, 2016.
From 1-4 p.m. Join Sarah Roach-Lewis and Eliza Knockwood for a facilitated discussion on the progress
made since the adoption of the City's Integrated Community Sustainability Plan in 2010 and reexamine goals
and actions going forward. There will be ample opportunity for participants to contribute to a shared vision of
what the next phase of our sustainability strategy will be and provide insights and experience that will shape the new
From 7-10 p.m. there will be an open house celebration and community expo hosted by Todd MacLean, author
of A Global Chorus. Connect with businesses, artists, community groups and neighbours to hear about local action
already taking place and learn about opportunities to get involved. Information booths include Confederation Centre
Public Library, Fusion Charlottetown, PEI Sierra Club, Island Food Skills Initiative, Plate it, Reading Town,
Aboriginal Women's Association of PEI, Seniors College of PEI, Winter Action, Renewable Lifestyles
(Solar Island Electric), Fox Club Society, Maritime Yoga College, Earthship PEI, Canadian Paraplegic Association and many more!
There will be opportunity to see the results of the afternoon visioning session and share feedback on the next phase of the sustainability plan throughout the evening.
All members of the public are welcome to attend one or both of the events on February 4. The events
are free, open to all ages and light refreshments will be provided.
