2015-03-21 - Emergency Personnel Allow Evacuated Residents to Return to Their Homes

The Charlottetown Fire Department and Charlottetown Police have ended the evacuation order for Burns Avenue residents who were asked to clear the area as a precaution after a vaporizer adjacent to a propane tank at Walmart caught fire this morning (Saturday, March 21).

The valves to the tank have been shut off and the residual propane in the tank lines has been burned off.

The public is asked to continue avoiding Walmart until emergency personnel can finish clearing the scene, but those living in the nearby residences on Burns Avenue can return home.
