The City of Charlottetown joined those across the country marking the National Day of Mourning today (April 28) to remember and honour people who were killed or injured at work.

The flags at City Hall were lowered to half-mast out of respect and the National Day of Mourning flag was raised.

Participating in the flag ceremony were, from left: Jason Woodbury, CUPE PEI representative on the National Health and Safety Committee; Jesse Campbell, Charlottetown Water and Sewer Utility Technician; Councillor Greg Rivard; Mike Bradley, Charlottetown Public Works Superintendent; Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee; and Lenny Murphy, Charlottetown Health and Safety Coordinator.

The PEI Federation of Labour is hosting a memorial ceremony for the National Day of Mourning at Memorial Hall in Charlottetown at 7 p.m. on April 28. All are welcome to attend.
