A split class of grades 5-6 students at L.M. Montgomery Elementary School have been recognized by Engineers PEI and the City of Charlottetown for their submission in an artwork contest.
The students in Ms. Nancy MacKinnon’s class created a mural demonstrating the "good" and "bad" ways to conserve water. Their imaginative ideas and artwork were considered the best in the Grade 5-6 division by Engineers PEI. The class was given a small prize from the City as a sponsor of the contest.
Charlottetown Water and Sewer Utility Projects Officer Betty Pryor (far right) presented the prize to the class after they hung their mural in the school lobby recently.
Other artwork contest winners in Charlottetown included Size Mqwenya (Grade 6) at West Royalty Elementary School (2nd Place Grade 5-6 Division) and Zion Kindergarten received an honourable mention in the Class Mural category.
