The City of Charlottetown’s Canada Day festivities kick off at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 1. The outside lane through Victoria Park (from Brighton Road to Terry Fox Drive) will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. Friday, July 1 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 2. Only emergency vehicles will be permitted.
Leading up to and during the fireworks, which are set to take place at 10 p.m., a section of the bike lane and boardwalk will be closed temporarily.
Parking will not be permitted along Brighton Road between Ambrose Street and Queen Elizabeth Drive. Parking will also not be permitted near the intersection of Brighton Road and Queen Elizabeth Drive, Greenfield Avenue, Goodwill Avenue, Century Terrace, and Ambrose Street. Signage and barricades will be in place.
The public is encouraged to use the parking lot on Terry Fox Drive as well as the City Parkades – Queen, Pownal and Fitzroy – which will be open to the public with no charge on Canada Day.
