The City of Charlottetown invites all recent newcomers to join the Mayor, members of Council, City staff and newcomer ambassadors at the Christmas Newcomer Orientation Session being held on Thursday, December 1 at 5 p.m. The newcomer ambassadors – a group of fifteen volunteers from all around the world – will be wearing traditional ethnic clothing. Participants in the session are invited to join the ambassadors by wearing their own traditional ethnic clothing or holiday fashion/garb.
As with past orientations, newcomers will be welcomed to City Hall and there will be a presentation, an information fair and a tour. At this orientation session, the featured presentation will come from the Water and Sewer Utility and Sustainability departments. Tips for a healthy home environment, energy saving ideas for the winter, and information on current programs/rebates will be made available to participants. A Christmas lights bus tour around Charlottetown will conclude the event, with the final stop at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. The Centre’s Confederation Players will greet guests with hot drinks and a stroll through the Art Gallery.
Pre-registration is required and will be available online beginning on Friday, November 18. A limited number of spaces are available, so early registration is recommended. Registration is free and will be available online at: https://citycharlottetown.wufoo.com/forms/kflrr6410qs711/
