The City of Charlottetown wants to encourage residents and visitors to embrace winter and take advantage of all the fun activities scheduled throughout the month of February for WinterLove.
A free snoga session will be offered on Friday, February 10 at 12:00 p.m. in Rochford Square. Snoga is the practice of yoga outside in the winter months. Studies have shown there are health benefits to spending time in cold temperatures including: increased energy levels and mental alertness, improve sleep, stimulate weight loss, facilitate better breathing, reduce inflammation and improve immune function.
Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and dress accordingly. Certified yoga instructor, Cynthia Dennis will be leading the class which is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.
The City of Charlottetown has also partnered with Discover Charlottetown and Fusion Charlottetown to create a "How to Winter in Charlottetown" online database available at: www.discovercharlottetown.com/en/see-do/winter.php.
