Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee and members of council join fans across the province hoping for a big win for the Charlottetown Islanders as they continue to challenge other teams in the playoffs.
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team broke several franchise records this year and their skills haven’t gone unnoticed. The Isles received the Luc-Robitaille trophy recently for having the best goals per game average during the regular season. They finished with 303 goals in 68 games, averaging 4.45 goals scored per game.
"Congratulations to the team for their stellar performance during the regular season and for earning the Luc-Robitaille trophy," said Mayor Lee. "It has been said that the Charlottetown Islanders have become one of the favourites to conquer the President Cup and we agree. We wish them well and hope they go far in the playoffs."
