As part of Bike Week, and to celebrate National Health and Fitness day, the City of Charlottetown is hosting a free cycling event on Saturday, June 3.
Cycle Our City will begin at Joe Ghiz Memorial Park at 10:30 a.m. and includes a bike repair clinic offered by MacQueen’s Bike Shop, proper helmet fittings provided by the Brain Injury Association, fitness in the park with toys and sports equipment provided by go!PEI, and a group ride on the confederation trail to the Charlottetown Farmer’s Market. The Charlottetown Farmer’s Market Cooperative will be unveiling their micro-grant project, the Living Roof Bike Shelter at noon and then Cycling PEI will be providing a Learn to Bike with Push Bike session for children ages two and up.
There is no cost to attend and people of all ages and abilities are welcome. Participants must bring their own bicycle and wear a helmet in order to participate in the group bike ride. Children must be supervised by an adult.
