2017-09-22 - Good Progress Made One Week into Queens Arms Project

The City of Charlottetown is pleased with the progress made one week into the construction at the "Queens Arms" intersection (where Capital Drive, North River Road and Lower Malpeque Road meet).

Throughout the past week, contractors have been excavating and the trench is expected to be completed by Friday, September 22. The site is being prepped for the crane, which is scheduled to arrive on Sunday for work starting on Monday, September 25. The 160 tonne crane will be moving large concrete box sections into the prepped trench.

Construction is currently on schedule and progress is good to date. The weather has cooperated and plays a big part in progress and work scheduled for next week.

Businesses in the area of the intersection have remained open and local traffic has been and will continue to be permitted through to those businesses. The continued patience shown by these businesses and their clients is appreciated as this necessary work is completed.

Thank you to the travelling public for their cooperation during this closure.
