2017-12-19 - Ring in the New Year in Victoria Park

The City of Charlottetown’s Capital New Year celebrations will take place at the Cultural Pavilion in Victoria Park on Sunday December 31 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
This free community event has become a great family tradition for many Charlottetown residents and visitors. All are welcome to attend for horse and wagon rides, refreshments, entertainment, photo booth, laser dance party, face painting, balloon twisting, fireworks display and lots of holiday fun.

Families will also be able to enjoy an outdoor screening of Disney’s Frozen at the Victoria Park Cultural Pavilion, beginning at 5:30 p.m., running until approximately 7:15 p.m.
The public is encouraged to dress warmly, bring blankets and chairs, and feel free to bring a flashlight, party hats and noisemakers for this festive celebration. Horse and wagon rides will take place from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. on the roadway by the tennis club, with the Countdown for the New Year beginning at approximately 7:20 p.m.

The Victoria Park parking lot located off of Brighton Road will be closed to the general public and only open to individuals requiring accessible parking (disabled parking permit or license plate required). The public is encouraged to use the Provincial Government parking lot on Terry Fox Drive. Metered parking and parkades in downtown Charlottetown will be open and free for the day.
Should the event be cancelled due to poor weather conditions, an announcement will be made through local media and the City’s Facebook and Twitter accounts: www.facebook.ca/CityofCharlottetown and @ChtownPE.
