The City of Charlottetown wants to encourage residents and visitors to embrace winter and take advantage of all of the fun activities scheduled throughout the month of February for WinterLove.
WinterLove is a community led initiative that includes events and ideas to inspire people make the most of the winter months.
As part of WinterLove, the City is hosting a free snoga session on Friday, February 16 at 12 p.m. (noon) in Rochford Square. Snoga is the practice of yoga outside in the winter months. Studies have shown there are health benefits to spending time in cold temperatures such as: increased energy level and mental alertness, improved sleep, stimulated weight loss, better breathing, reduced inflammation and improved immune function.
Snoga participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and dress accordingly. Certified yoga instructor Cynthia Dennis will be leading the class, which is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.
