The City of Charlottetown’s 2018 Winter Active Campaign is well underway with free activities designed to encourage people of all ages to be more active during the winter months.
One of the events, the Winter Walk on the Boardwalk, takes place in Victoria Park on Sunday, February 11, from 1 - 3 p.m. Participants can meet inside the Carriage House at Beaconsfield. There will be free hot chocolate and cookies available to participants after the walk inside the Carriage House at Beaconsfield.
"We encourage everyone to bundle up and join us on Sunday for this family friendly event," said Councillor Mitchell Tweel, Chair of the City’s Parks, Recreation and Leisure Activities. "The winter months provide the perfect canvas for many activities and the Winter Active Campaign provides us with an opportunity to encourage the public to stay active."
In addition to the Winter Walk on the Boardwalk, the 2018 Winter Active Campaign includes other free activities such as snowshoeing, family skates, and a 10-week Learn to Run program.
