The deadline for Make Charlottetown Bloom nominations is fast approaching. Residents and businesses have until July 31 to submit a nomination form for the gardening competition.
Make Charlottetown Bloom is designed to reward those who maintain buildings and landscapes within City limits. Businesses and residents can self-nominate or nominate someone else.
Entries are judged based on design, variety, colour, unique features and maintenance. Some of the categories include: commercial (business, institutional and apartment properties); flower gardens; edible gardens; neighbourhood pride; and environmentally friendly gardens, such as those requiring low maintenance and limited use of water.
Judging will take place between August 2 and August 16. The results will be shared at an awards ceremony on September 11. Nomination forms can be picked up at City Hall. Contest rules are available at: Charlottetown.ca by clicking on the Communities in Bloom button.
