The City of Charlottetown’s Parks and Recreation Department will be offering two Seniors’ Day Trips in August.
The first trip will take place on Thursday, August 14. The evening will be spent at the Harmony House Theatre in Hunter River to take in The Island Summer Review 2, starring Patrick Ledwell and Mark Haines. The brand new show was designed to have the audience stomping their feet to the beat and laughing at the authentic Island stories told through a variety of comic and musical lenses. There’s stand-up comedy, traditional and contemporary music, mock-informative slideshows, and much more. The fee for this seniors’ day trip is $22, which includes the show ticket and transportation.
On Thursday August 28, the day will be spent on the Eastern end of the Island. The tour will include a visit to the Greenwich Interpretive Centre, followed by lunch at the Sheltered Harbour Cafe in Souris. From there, the group will head to Basin Head and then finish the day at the Elmira Train Museum. The fee for this day trip will be $28, including transportation and entrance fees for the Interpretive Centre and the train station. Guests on this trip will be responsible for the cost of their lunch.
