It’s going to be a busy weekend in the City of Charlottetown with activities at the PEI 2014 Inc. Celebration Zone, the 2014 Senior and Master Men's Fast Pitch Canadian Championships, PEI Busker Festival, PEI 2014 Inc. Founders Week, the Tall Ships Festival, Charlottetown Islanders Street Hockey Festival and the Shania Twain Live in Concert.
The public is encouraged to consider alternative modes of transportation to get to each activity instead of taking a vehicle downtown, especially for the Shania Twain concert taking place on Saturday, August 30. There will be traffic delays near the concert site and limited parking in the downtown core. If walking isn’t an option, the public is encouraged to take public transit, a taxi, car-pool, or bike.
A police-controlled pedestrian lane will run on the north side of Water Street to the concert site from the corner of Weymouth Street. The rear parking lot of the Workers’ Compensation Board, located at 14 Weymouth, will be used as the designated drop-off and pick-up location for concert goers.
Limited paid parking is available next to concert site. VIP parking is accessible from Grafton Street only. Limited general parking is accessible from both Grafton and Park streets. Handicapped parking will be available at the Friendly Pharmacy located 220 Water Street and a wheelchair accessible shuttle will transport parties to and from the concert site free of charge.
A taxi pooling area will be located on Edward Street between Kent and Grafton streets for concert goers.

To prevent violations and disruptive behavior in the residential neighborhoods surrounding the concert site, parking will be restricted and closely monitored for compliance. A parking restrictions map and more information on pedestrian traffic flow is available on the Charlottetown Police Services website at: http://charlottetownpolice.com/fest2014
