Delegates from Italy, England, Belgium, Japan, and the Netherlands will be in attendance, along with visitors from across North America, including delegates from every province in Canada.
"It is a great honour to be hosting this high-calibre conference in the City of Charlottetown and welcoming guests from all over the world," said Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee. "We hope that all of the delegates will enjoy the conference and all that our great city has to offer."
Communities in Bloom is a non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification. It does this through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on the enhancement of green spaces in communities.
The Communities in Bloom National and International Awards is being held at the Delta Prince Edward, and will include keynote speaker Frankie Flowers, CityTV Garden Expert, as well as many Island-flavored technical visits and social events.
"The Communities in Bloom conference is packed with great activities and speakers," said Deputy Mayor Stu MacFadyen. "We encourage residents to take advantage of the fact that this national and international event is being held in their backyard."
Registration is available for complete program or daily symposium attendance at the Delta Prince Edward, PEI Convention Centre on Wednesday, September 17 to Saturday, September 20.
