HotSpot Parking Inc., in partnership with the City of Charlottetown, is offering free parking using the HotSpot application at any of the City of Charlottetown’s parking meters on November 28.
HotSpot was introduced as an additional metered parking payment option in downtown Charlottetown on October 27.
Users can download the HotSpot App for free or visit the website to create a user account with creditcard information. Pay for metered parking through the secured App or by texting Hotspot at: 902-201-0466.
HotSpot will cover all parking fees for people using the application at a Charlottetown meter on Friday, November 28 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. to mark the first traditional day of Christmas shopping deals and bargains, known as Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving in the United States). People using Hotspot to access metered parking on Friday will still be warned when the meter is about to expire and can set Hotspot to do automatic meter top-ups, but only to the maximum amount of time allowed for the metered space.
HotSpot technology is available through iOS, Android, or Text Messaging on any cell phone that has texting capabilities.
