Day 12 of Charlottetown Fire Department 12 Days of Fire Safety Campaign
The Charlottetown Fire Department is reminding the public to drive sober or make other arrangements when celebrating over the holidays and consuming alcohol.
• Never drive impaired or ride with an impaired driver.
• Plan ahead if you're going to be drinking alcohol. Take a cab or bus, arrange a designated driver or plan to stay overnight.
• If you see a driver you suspect is impaired, call 9-1-1 to report it.
These tips are part of the Charlottetown Fire Department’s 12 Days of Fire Safety campaign to raise awareness of important fire prevention and safety measures leading into the holiday season.
The 12 Days of Fire Safety campaign was inspired by a similar initiative in Ontario. It began on December 1 and included public service announcements for twelve business days that outlined fire prevention and safety tips. The announcements were sent to local media as well as shared through www.charlottetown.ca/news.php and on social media via www.facebook.com/CityofCharlottetown and, on Twitter, @ChtownPE or @ChtownFire.
