2015-02-09 - Municipalities Partner on ‘Love Transit’ Event

The City of Charlottetown, Town of Stratford  and Town of Cornwall have partnered with T3 Transit on a Love Transit event taking place on Friday, February 13.

Councillors from Stratford, Charlottetown and Cornwall will be on select morning routes handing out snacks to show some love to transit riders. At the same time, Charlottetown, Stratford, Cornwall and Trius want to hear from the public about what they love about transit. Let the councillors know or send feedback to charlottetowntransit@pei.aibn.com. Tweet some Transit love using #LoveTransit or @TriusTransit.

"The City of Charlottetown continues to see consistent ridership growth which is a strong indication of the community support for transit," said Councillor Bob Doiron, Chair of the City’s Environment and Sustainability Committee. "This event, being held the day before Valentine’s Day, gives us a chance to collectively thank the people who have been taking advantage of the service and supporting public transit. It also gives the public an opportunity to provide their feedback to Transit."

"The Town of Stratford, in conjunction with Charlottetown, has been working with residents and T3 Transit to improve ridership in Stratford and is pleased with the increase over the past number of months," said acting Town of Stratford Mayor Randy Cooper. "We are committed to transit and are looking forward to interacting with our riders and getting feedback about the service."

"The Town of Cornwall is pleased with this opportunity to continue our efforts to promote transit in the Capital Area," said Town of Cornwall Deputy Mayor Gary Ramsay. "It is important to hear from residents as we strive to grow transit use in Cornwall."

"It’s great to see the City of Charlottetown, the Town of Stratford and the Town of Cornwall embracing the Transit System and showing an appreciation to all of our loyal customers... a real Valentine’s Day treat," said Mike Cassidy, owner of T3 Transit.
