2015-09-21 - Deadline Approaching for Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Campaign

The City of Charlottetown’s Fire Department is looking for volunteers. The deadline to apply as part of the volunteer firefighter recruitment campaign is Friday, October 2.

Application packages are available at the Charlottetown Fire Department Station No. 1, 89 Kent Street. All volunteer firefighters in Charlottetown receive training and leadership development, insurance coverage, fellowship, and annual honorariums. The volunteer firefighters play an important role in within the City’s protective and emergency services.

The City’s two fire stations include a roster of about 80 volunteers to help with a number of duties including: rescues, fire response, vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance, and assisting with fire prevention and education programs.
