The Charlottetown Arts Advisory Board is seeking proposals for the design and creation of its 2016 Arts and Culture Awards. The awards will be presented at the biannual City of Charlottetown Arts and Culture Awards ceremony in mid-June.
Proposals for the Arts and Culture Awards will be reviewed by the Arts Advisory Board for quality, suitability, and eligibility. Because the award is presented to artists, its design should be beyond that of a traditional trophy. It must also be of a size suitable for presentation on stage and display in the recipient’s home. Five awards are required and the total contract is valued at $2,000, including taxes and delivery to City Hall.
Each award must incorporate the following:
• "Charlottetown Arts and Culture Award 2016"
• Name of the award, for example: "Emerging Artist"
• Recipient’s name
• Name of award sponsor, where applicable
• City of Charlottetown logo
The Board reserves the right to make a final selection from outside submitted proposals. Preference will be given to a Charlottetown-based artist but all artists are welcome to apply. Proposals can be dropped off at City Hall reception at 199 Queen Street or mailed to:
Attn: Arts Advisory Board c/o Ron Atkinson
PO Box 98
The deadline to submit a proposal is 12 p.m (noon) on Friday, March 4. Proposals must include: the artist’s name and complete contact details; drawings, images or a sample of the proposed award, including dimensions and proposed materials; the artist’s CV or resume; the cost for each award (within budget stipulated above). The documents should be in PDF or RTF format, with images in JPG, PDF, or PNG
Incomplete proposals, or proposals received in formats other than stipulated above may not be considered.
Further details of the 2016 Arts and Culture Awards ceremony will be announced at a later date.
