The City of Charlottetown extends congratulations to the Manager of Parks and Recreation, Frank Quinn, upon receiving the 2015 Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) Award of Merit.
The CPRA Award of Merit recognizes an individual/organization/corporation for an outstanding contribution to achievements in each province and territory. The recipient has contributed to a municipal, regional or provincial success which has national implications in the sector. This achievement will have contributed to the advancement of parks and recreation regionally and nationally.
"On behalf of Charlottetown City Council we want to congratulate Frank Quinn on the receipt of this well-deserved award," said Mayor Clifford Lee. "Frank demonstrates leadership and has made significant contributions to the community throughout his career."
This prestigious award was presented to Frank Quinn for his outstanding achievements in Prince Edward Island, stemming from his municipal success that has translated into national contributions. His achievement has made a significant and distinct contribution to the advancement of the sphere of parks and recreation.
"Frank exemplifies professionalism in his position as Manager and as a volunteer with many local organizations," said Councillor Mitchell Tweel, Chair of Parks, Recreation and Leisure Activities Committee. "He is an excellent manager and it is a pleasure to work with him."
The CPRA Award was presented on Wednesday, June 1 at the Recreation PEI AGM.
