The Charlottetown Water and Sewer Utility has announced the first two winners in its incentive program to encourage residents to switch to a water meter.

Matthew and Stephanie Duffy and Neil and Kathy Robertson have both won a three month credit on their quarterly water bill. The contest began in May 2016 and all Charlottetown Utility customers who volunteered to have a water meter installed since October 1, 2015, under the Residential Water Meter Program, were entered into the contest.

"Switching to a water meter is simple, free to install and in many cases, a money saving process," said Councillor Eddie Rice, Chair of Water and Sewer Utility Committee. "We continue to offer incentive programs to our customers to encourage reduced water use and sustainable options. I want to extend my congratulations to the winners of the first two quarters"

The contest is still ongoing and another residential winner will be announced for the April 1 to June 30 quarter. The grand prize of a full year’s credit will be announced after October 31, 2016 and a credit will be applied for the customer’s previous full year’s water bill.
