Few breaks in the winter weather conditions are keeping public works staff and snow removal contractors working at a continuous rate to maintain safe road and sidewalk conditions for all residents. The City was successful in removing snow from all downtown streets and sidewalks over the weekend, only to have more bad weather move in on Monday and Tuesday.
All pedestrians are advised to be cautious when walking on streets and sidewalks, as ice from Monday’s storm is under the snow which has been blowing around on Tuesday. Snow removal efforts, salting and sanding have continued throughout this period in an effort to maintain safe walking conditions.
The public is asked to be especially mindful of sidewalk conditions at this time, especially for children who walk to school. Parents are asked to ensure the route children normally take to school allows for their safety before they venture out.
