Mayor Clifford Lee is anticipating an abundant supply of east coast music to entertain during East Coast Music Week, which gets underway in Charlottetown on Wednesday, April 2nd and runs through April 6th.
"On behalf of City Council, I welcome delegates, visitors and all Islanders to take advantage of the high caliber of musicians who will be performing throughout the city at numerous venues during the week", says Mayor Lee. "The ECMW event has substantial economic, cultural and tourism impact on Charlottetown and we are pleased to be hosting this event, once again. With the quaintness of our city and the plethora of cultural venues located within close proximity to one another in our downtown core, one could say the ECMW was made to be hosted in Charlottetown."
There is no doubt Charlottetown will be abuzz and alive with a substantial influx of musicians, industry professionals, and music fans to the city. There will also be a strong number of international music industry delegates who will descend on Charlottetown for the event, some who have come from as far away as Australia, the United Kingdom, and across the United States.
The PEI Convention Centre is the anchor venue for conference sessions, a live ECMA radio broadcast, and a variety of industry and public showcases presented throughout the week. The Convention Centre will also host signature events like the Songwriter’s Circle and Gala Awards Show, both scheduled for Sunday, April 6th.
