The City of Charlottetown’s Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the full complement of street sweepers are now in active operation.
Sweeping is being focused first on priority routes, including: University Avenue, Brackley Point Road, North River Road, Queen Street and Grafton Street.
"We know that cyclists and pedestrians are anxious to see the shoulders cleaned up and we want to assure the public that crews are hard at work doing just that," said Councillor Terry Bernard, Chair of the Public Works, Street Lighting and Transit Committee. "With the heavy snowfall and long winter that we experienced, there were a number of times we were required to use a sand/salt mixture on the streets which has resulted in excess debris along the shoulders. We’re asking the public for patience as we get this cleaned up."
