The first cruise ship passengers of 2014 arrived this week and the City of Charlottetown wishes to welcome all of the visitors to the capital city.
More than 93,000 passengers, 42,000 crew and 68 ships are projected to visit this year. The length of the cruise season has been extended into November with the last ship arriving on Nov. 6.
"It’s fantastic that so many visitors will have an opportunity to explore our great city," said Mayor Clifford Lee. "2014 is a very exciting year for the City of Charlottetown as we celebrate the 1864 anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference and the Birthplace of Confederation. We are thrilled our visitors may have the opportunity to take part in some of the many activities happening as part of 2014. We invite them to join in our celebrations and hope that they will experience all that our city has to offer."
