2014-05-13 - Charlottetown Milling and Resurfacing Work Begins Soon

The City of Charlottetown Public Works Department wishes to advise the public that milling and resurfacing work is planned in the coming weeks in the following street sections:

• University Avenue from Fitzroy Street to Grafton Street
• Queen Street from Euston Street to Grafton Street
• Water Street from Weymouth Street to Grafton Street

Asphalt plants are expected to be open in late May. It’s expected that milling of the asphalt will be starting on or around Wednesday, May 21. This is to be followed by appropriate utility maintenance and final resurfacing. The Public Works department is working hard to minimize the length of time needed for project completion, but the public is advised that operations may be affected by the weather.

During the construction process, there will be time periods of limited or restricted vehicle movement.  All efforts will be made to minimize traffic and parking disruptions, but some will be necessary.

The Public Works Department thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this street improvement work.  For more information, contact the Charlottetown Public Works Department at 902-894-5208.
