The City of Charlottetown wishes to express its deepest condolences to the City of Moncton’s residents and police services for the recent tragedy and death of three RCMP officers.
"It it our sincerest hope that the ongoing situation in Moncton is resolved quickly and that no one else is injured or killed," said Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee. "We would like the City of Moncton to know that they are in our thoughts. If there is anything we can do, we encourage Moncton to reach out and let us know."
Three Charlottetown Police Services Officers are currently in Moncton as part of specialized units assisting in the investigation.
"The shock of what is going on in Moncton is being felt by everyone," said Charlottetown Police Chief Paul Smith. "We want Moncton to know we are standing behind them. We will assist in any way we can."
