The City of Charlottetown and the Charlottetown Yacht Club’s paddle launch area in front of the Yacht Club is now open to the public for the summer.
The launch is complimentary service available for public use on a daily basis as a result of an agreement between the City of Charlottetown and the Yacht Club. It was created to enhance public enjoyment of the waterfront through recreational boating opportunities, such as paddle boarding and kayaking.
The Charlottetown Yacht Club is providing limited parking of three spaces per day for persons coming in with private craft, to park while they are out on the water.
The Yacht Club has also entered into a third party agreement with Paddles, a company that provides kayak and paddle board rentals for those who do not own their own craft and want to enjoy the same recreational paddling opportunities. Paddles is currently open by appointment only, but will be fully accessible to the public at its official opening on June 21.
The launch area is free of charge and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
