8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Pancake Breakfast and Official Opening of Charlottetown Winterfun Weekend at Sherwood Recreation Hall- Maple Ave Join Mayor Clifford Lee and Charlottetown City Council to kick off the City of Charlottetown Winterfun Weekend with a FREE Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club. Enjoy pancakes, sausages, milk, tea/coffee. A great community event.

10:00 a.m. - 12 noon Winter River Trail Walk Snowshoe - Take a walk with us on the beautiful Winter Rivertrails and learn more about where the City gets all its water. This is a family friendly event and our route will be chosen based on younger participants. Snacks will be provided. Please bring snowshoes. For more information on the trail visit www.IslandTrails.ca or call Ramona @629-4011 for event information. Driving Directions: (Rte 222 for Suffolk Rd, 229 for East Suffolk road) Take St. Peter's Rd out of Charlottetown for 9 km. Turn left onto Suffolk Road, drive 3 km. Turn right onto East Suffolk Road, drive 2.5 km to marked trailhead. Total distance from downtown Charlottetown is 15-20 minutes.

10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Panther Academy -Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre- Come play the Panther Way! Highlighting offerings from the upcoming March Break Camp - from Cake Boss to Dazzling Designs to Fun and Fitness. Limited space available. Call 566-0368 for more information.

10:30 a.m. Puppet Play - Confederation Centre Public Library – (recommended for ages 2-6) Tickets available at the Library in advance. For more information contact Roseanne Gauthier at 368-4644.

11:00 a.m. Story Theatre with Josh - Confederation Centre Public Library -– For all ages. For more information contact Roseanne Gauthier at 368-4644

11:45 a.m. Puppet Play - Confederation Centre Public Library – (recommended for ages 2-6) Contact Roseanne Gauthier at 368-4644.

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. - Become Kid Smart on Fire and Police Programs. Charlottetown Fire Station (Kent Street) View the station, meet your local firefighters and police, tour the fire trucks and police cars, obtain information to protect your home from fire and visit a drug awareness booth. Afterwards, receive a Sparky Badge to thank you for being a Safety Smart Kid.

1:00 – 2:00 p.m. - Presentation “The Messy Bedroom in Adventures in LaLa Land” - The Guild One hour of live theatre featuring music, comedy, and audience participation. The show follows six year old Max, who has lost his first tooth and can’t wait for his first visit from the tooth fairy! The only problem is the Tooth Fairy wants to retire and move to Florida. She decides to hold auditions to find a new tooth fairy. Can LaLa Land hire a new tooth fairy before young Max wakes up?

1:00 – 2:00 p.m. - Warm Up Chili samples at the Urban Eatery (located inside the Confederation Court Mall) coloring contest (prizes awards based on age categories) Enjoy young musicians performing in Ripped Paper Cover Band

1:00 – 3:45 p.m. Family Glow-in-the-Dark Bowling – Murphy’s Community Centre. There will be two shifts held during this time. The first one is from 1-2:15 p.m. and the second shift is from 2:30 – 3:45 p.m. It is recommended that you book your lane/team in advance by calling 892-1719 and press 1. Please mention you are booking as part of the Winterfun Weekend in order to get the free bowling. 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. – Open Family Swim - CARI Complex both Competition and Leisure Pools -Limited space. Advance tickets are available for pick up at the CARI Complex (strongly encouraged), limit of 6 tickets per family. Children under 7 years must be accompanied by an adult in the pool. Children over 7 must have an adult present.

Monday, February 17th

8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Walking Track – Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. The public will be given complimentary access to the walking track. Come out and walk away the winter blues.

12 noon – 1:00 p.m. – Free Family Skate with the Charlottetown Islanders Cody Banks Arena

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. – Open Family Swim CARI Complex - Both Competition and Leisure Pools -Limited space. Advance tickets are available for pick up at the CARI Complex (strongly encouraged), limit of 6 tickets per family. Children under 7 years must be accompanied by an adult in the pool. 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m. “Play with the Panthers” Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Shoot hoops with the UPEI Men’s and Women’s Varsity Basketball Teams. Also Panther’s Volleyball team will do a demo and play with those who drop in. For ages 14 and under. For more information contact 566-0368.

2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Children’s Movie Showing – West Royalty Community Centre Popcorn and Refreshments will be provided. Details on movie to be announced on city website on February 1. Contact 629-4138.
